About

DBMK was founded to cover subjects that have not been done accurately or at all. We are owned by Will and Ilya, to long time friends with a deep interest in military aviation and modelling. Ilya started modelling in Ukraine in the 1970's and has been involved with companies such as Armory, Copper State Models, and Dora Wings and has been based in the UK for almost 30 years. Will has been modelling since 1976 continuously and his interest in aviation and the military led to a degree in aeronautical engineering and a spell in the British Army.

Modern technology such as LIDAR scanning coupled with reproduction technologies such as 3-D printing allow model kits to really capture the shape and detail of the original subject.

At DBMK we have an ambitious list of subjects - many not covered at all in popular scales. We will stick to our priority of accuracy with the added inclusion of internal structure to make assembly straightforward and facilitate the correct orientation of the parts. We will use 3-D printing to capture elements such as cockpits and undercarriage legs. Our intention is that our kits will not require extensive aftermarket or be rendered obsolete by more accurate kits being released.
